Steri-Spore
Steri-Spore
QUICK- ACTING CHEMICAL STERILANT FOR MEDICAL AND SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
Sporicidal, bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal cold sterilant.
Steri-spore causes rapid kill of bacterial spores and other microbes at room temperature in a short time within 30 minutes for sterilization and within 5 minutes for disinfection.
Concentrated solution for disinfection and sterilization of surgical, medical, dental and laboratories instruments.
Used to sterilize flexible instruments like endoscopes and all types of microsurgery instruments set, anesthesia equipment, etc…
It acts on heat sensitive plastic, rubber, glass lenses without causing damage to sensitive parts of such instruments.
Difference between glutaraldehyde and steri-spore.
Glutaraldehde was used in 1928 and is toxic to the human body and environment, irritant to the nose, lungs, skin, and eye.
Glutaraldehyde can be difficult to remove from device surfaces (sometimes requiring up to 5 potable water rinses) and has been highlighted as a patient safety (toxicity) concerns.
Steri-spore new generation is environmentally friendly, nontoxic to human body, and nonirritant to nose, lungs, and skin.
Steri-spore is effective against a wide range of microorganisms such as bacterial spores, bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Steri-spore is more effective at low concentration and less aggressive on surfaces.
Steri-spore is safe on patients, devices and staff using the sterilizer and on the environment.
It has no damaging effect or corrosiveness on devices and instruments and endoscopes.
Disinfection time of glutaraldehyde: 15 minutes while disinfection time of steri-spore: 5 minutes
Sterilization time of glutaraldehyde: 10 hours while sterilization time of steri-spore: 30 minutes
Directions of Use
- Wash and rinse the medical instruments properly after use with potable water.
- If visible residues stay on surface of instruments, remove it with brush then rinse the instruments with potable water.
- The instruments are now ready for sterilization by steri-spore.
- Prepare a diluted solution of steri-spore by adding 50 ml of concentrate to 950 ml of water.
- Immerse the instruments for 30 mins where all parts and holes must be completely filled with solution.
- After disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments, rinse them with sterile water or leave them to dry in air or dry them by sterile gauze.
- Activity of pure, unused working solution is 4 days and for hygienic reasons, it is recommended to exchange the used and contaminated solution on daily basis.
- Do not combine with other detergents and disinfectants.
